One week ago today my second novel, Keeper of the Bees released in hardcover and ebook. I wrote this book because I fell in love with Rafette, the villain from Black Bird of the Gallows and wanted to tell the story of a Beekeeper. Rafette’s story concluded in Black Bird, so I began a new tale with new characters, told in alternating point of views.
As my two main characters, Dresden and Essie, grew in my mind and on the page, I fell for both of them just as hard as I had for Rafette. Also, I added a mystery element, which was more fun than I thought it would be, and gave a few more breadcrumbs regarding the origins of these creatures and the mythology surrounding them.
This story is near to my heart for a number of reasons. I hope you, dear readers, enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
